Embracing Lifes Beauty: My Year as Mrs. American and The Advocacy as the Blonde Bombshell

Hey there, my Blonde Bombshell Beauts! 💕

As I sit down to reflect on the whirlwind of a year that has passed, I can't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude and joy. Being crowned as Mrs. American has been an incredible journey, one that has allowed me to use my platform as "The Blonde Bombshell" to advocate for something very dear to my heart: thriving after breast cancer.

Life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2020. The journey was challenging, but it also taught me resilience and the power of a positive mindset. Through it all, I discovered the strength within myself and the unwavering support of my loved ones.

When I was crowned as Mrs. American, I knew I had a unique opportunity to make a difference, and that's when my advocacy work truly took flight. I wanted to turn my own journey with breast cancer into a source of inspiration and support for others who might be facing similar challenges.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my advocacy has been connecting with fellow survivors and patients. Hearing their stories of courage and determination reminded me that no one has to face this battle alone.

Throughout the year, "The Blonde Bombshell" platform has become a safe space for those affected by breast cancer. We've shared beauty tips for those experiencing hair loss during treatment, talked about embracing our scars as symbols of strength and being okay with wanting to look and feel glamourous post mastectomy and treatment and discussed how to nurture our mental well-being while on this healing journey.

I've had the privilege of collaborating with remarkable organizations, raising awareness, and advocacy for breast cancer research and support programs to include being the keynote speaker at the Susan G. Komen Advocacy days on Capitol Hill and to speak with Congress and the Senate to obtain more co-sponsors for bills we desperately need passed for women's health. Together, we've taken small steps that have brought us closer to a world without breast cancer.

But it hasn't been all about the serious stuff! As Mrs. American, I've also had the opportunity to share the lighter side of life, to remind everyone that laughter and joy are essential elements of thriving. From sharing funny anecdotes about my day-to-day life with my husband and family to sharing reels promoting positivity and happiness.

As my reign comes to an end, I am filled with bittersweet emotions. It's been a truly incredible year, and I'll forever cherish the memories and friendships made along the way. But I'm also excited about the next chapter, where I'll continue my advocacy work beyond the sash and crown.

To all those who have supported me on my reign, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Together, we have made a difference, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for "The Blonde Bombshell" and my tribe of empowered ladies.

*August 25 I will pass my Mrs. American Crown to another lady in Las Vegas- follow along to see that magical night! I will post the livestream link soon.
